Your first day in the Plav mountains
Clear paths, manageable altitude, and a pace set by the group — not the clock. No prior experience assumed.

Where beginner days take you
Visitor mountain
A scenic mountain route west of Plav and Lake Plav, rising to 2,211 m at Bandera/Plana summit. The trail passes through forested foothills, alpine meadows, rocky upper slopes, and can include Visitor Lake at 1,820 m. Suitable for regular hikers with good fitness. Duration: 6–8 hours.
Valley Traverse
A linear route through a dry limestone valley with a gentle climb to a viewpoint. 280 m gain, shaded approach, clear path throughout. Duration: 4–5 hours.
Plateau Walk
Open plateau terrain at moderate altitude. Exposed in weather, so route timing adjusts to conditions. 400 m gain, rewarding views, no scrambling. Duration: 6 hours.

What you need
Group size and guiding
Routes stay on marked paths with moderate elevation. The group sets the pace; there is no fixed arrival time, and rest stops are read from the terrain, not a schedule.
Ankle-supporting footwear, layers for weather change, water for a full day. No technical gear. Physical readiness matters more than experience, if you walk 90 minutes comfortably, you are ready.
Beginner groups stay small, typically four to eight people. Kula or a named co-guide leads every day. No one is left behind, and no one is rushed through the route.
